HPD TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  ING HARTFORD MARATHON ROAD CLOSURES AND ALTERNATIVE ACCESS ROUTES

(Hartford) - The Hartford Police Department's Traffic Division, in cooperation with the ING Hartford Marathon, has issued the following traffic advisory  for the ING Hartford Marathon on Saturday, October 13, 2012.

On Saturday, October 13th, beginning at 7:30 a.m., more than 15, 000 participants are expected to be on the roads of Hartford, West Hartford and East Hartford; road closures and travel delays will begin at 7:30 a.m. and exist throughout the city of Hartford and surrounding towns until 2 p.m.

Local police, race organizers and volunteers will be stationed along the course route (see below) to assist with foot traffic, spectator questions, and motorists.  Below are access directions for specific locations, traffic impact and road closures, a map of the marathon route, and a link to the official ING Hartford Marathon website.  For parking information visit the Hartford Parking Authority website or call 860-761-0004.

Star Shuttle Disruption:
DOWNTOWN HARTFORD -- STAR SHUTTLE
Friday & Saturday, October 12 and 13, the Star Shuttle will operate from 7:00AM to 1:00AM. October 14 (Sunday) the Star Shuttle will provide service between 7:00AM and 5:00PM. CT Transit - Bus Service Disruption:
During the ING Hartford Marathon, there will be temporary service disruptions and delays for Downtown Hartford, West Hartford and East Hartford bus service. In Downtown Hartford, all bus stops on Main Street between South Green and Church Street will be closed at 6:00 am. All buses will only serve temporary stops at Church and Main Street.
