NEWS HARTFORD POLICE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST (Hartford, CT.) - Police Chief James C. Rovella today confirmed detectives of the HPD's Major Crimes Division investigating the shooting death of Shane Oliver have made an arrest in the case. "An arrest warrant for Luis Rodriguez, DOB 6/22/1992, was issued on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, charging him with Oliver's murder. He was taken into custody at 4:00 p.m., that same day by Major Crimes Division detectives," said Chief Rovella. "I wish to commend the excellent work by investigators in this case, and the community for their support and assistance to police, which contributed to the timely success of this investigation." Rodriguez was booked at Hartford Police Headquarters and charged with murder, unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned in Hartford Superior Court on October 25, 2012.
