IMPACT OF HARTFORD SHOOTING TEAM CONTINUES;
NINE MORE INVESTIGATIONS CLOSED BY ARREST
(Hartford) - Today, Mayor Pedro E. Segarra, Police Chief
Daryl K. Roberts and Chief State's Attorney Kevin Kane announced nine (9)
more investigations have been closed resulting in twelve arrests by the
Hartford Shooting Team.
"This brings the total number of felony arrests so far to
forty-two (42) made by the Hartford Shooting Team since it began efforts to
reduce gun violence in the city," stated Mayor Segarra. "These arrests
are a clear indication that with the proper resources and techniques, no
matter how long it takes, individuals who resort to violence in our city
will be arrested and will face prosecution for their actions."
"The partnership with the offices of the Chief State's
Attorney and Hartford State's Attorney, Connecticut State Police, Department
of Corrections, West and East Hartford Police and Manchester Police
Departments, the DEA and other state and local agencies has made this
initiative possible and our city a safer place in which to live and work,"
said Chief Roberts.

The charges are merely accusations and the defendants
are innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The Hartford Shooting Team, reinstated by Mayor Pedro E.
Segarra on July 5th, 2011, is a partnership between the Hartford
Police Department, Offices of the Chief State's Attorney and Hartford State's Attorney,
the Connecticut State Police and State
Department of Corrections, and the East Hartford, West Hartford and
Manchester police departments, and is charged with investigating gun
violence and bringing those responsible for such violence to prosecution.
It also collaborates with the Violent Crimes Bureau and the Witness
Protection Unit in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney and works in
conjunction with the Central Connecticut Cold Case Task Force.
