NEWS HARTFORD POLICE MAKE ARREST IN SEPTEMBER 6TH MAGNOLIA STREET HOMICIDE (Hartford) - Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts today announced detectives of the HPD's Major Crimes Division had made an arrest in the investigation of the September 6, 2011, homicide of Juan Toledo. Eduardo Marquez, AKA Eduardo Morrison, 25, of 235 Collins Street, Hartford, was charged by Hartford Police on September 8, 2011, less than 48 hours following the murder of Toledo, with one count of murder. He remains in custody on $1,000,000 bond pending arraignment in Hartford Superior Court. In commenting on the arrest, Major Crimes Division Commander Lieutenant Brian Foley said, "I wish to commend Detectives Dennis DeMatteo and Zach Sherry for their diligence and relentless investigation that led to Marquez' arrest 48 hours after his crime." Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra also commended the
detectives for their quick turnaround of the investigation stating, "Let
the message be clear: if someone is thinking about committing a crime,
they should realize that they will be caught and they will be held
accountable .”
