For Immediate Release:   Wednesday, March 16 , 2011

HARTFORD POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

(Hartford) - Members of the Hartford Police Department's Patrol Division and Crime Scene Division are investigating a mid-day accident that occurred at the intersection of Hawthorne and South Marshall Street in Hartford.

The accident, involving two cars, resulted in 1 fatality and 2 minor injuries.    The deceased, a male passenger in one of the vehicles, succumbed to his injuries this afternoon at St. Francis Hospital.  His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the accident and have information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact Hartford Police, or call Hartford Crime Stoppers at 860-722-TIPS.
