ARREST MADE IN JARRELL WARMINGTON
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

---JOINT NEWS AND COMMUNITY RELEASE---

(June 13, 2011)--- Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts today announce that Detectives of the Hartford Police Department have arrested Timothy Turman, 24, of 27 Forest Lane, Bloomfield, in connection with the May 2nd, 2011, fatal shooting of Jarrell Warmington, 21, of Hartford.

Turman, who was captured by the Hartford Police Department’s Fugitive Task Force on Friday, June 9th, 2011, was arraigned today in Hartford Superior Court.  HPD Major Crimes Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Turman on Thursday, June 8th, charging Turman with felony murder, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and robbery in the first degree.  He remains in custody on a $1 million bond.

In commenting on the second homicide investigation arrest by police in less than one week, Mayor Segarra said, “I commend all the members of the law enforcement community for their collaborative effort and perseverance in identifying Turman as the suspect and his swift capture.  My sympathy goes out to the Warmington family for their loss.  I hope the knowledge that this arrest has been made brings them some semblance of peace.”

Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts also commended police personnel and the community for their assistance and support in the investigation, saying “I want the families of homicide victims to know that we will never forget – we will never stop investigating until those responsible for the loss of their loved ones are brought to justice.”

The Hartford Fugitive Task Force is comprised of representatives of the Hartford Police Department’s Intelligence Division, representatives of the State Office of Probation and members of the United States Marshall’s Service.
