Listed below are some of the violations that

and the Community's established standards in relation to it's Quality of
Life.
The Hartford Police Department
is committed to the
continual enforcement of Quality of Life Violations.
Some
of the more common laws are:
Drinking in Public
Consuming or possessing an open
container of alcohol in public view, a person would receive a misdemeanor
summons and have to appear in community court.
Noise Violations
Creating or causing unreasonable or
excessive noise regardless of the time of day. Noise plainly audible
at a distance of 100 yards from it's source is excessive; in the case of a
loud amplification device the distance is 100 feet. Examples of
violations are loud stereos in vehicles or homes, loud noise from the
mechanical operation of a vehicle, unnecessary use of a vehicle's horn, or
other noise disturbances. Person could be fined or
arrested.
Loitering
Blocking the sidewalk or
passage ways could constitute an obstruction of free passage.
Trespassing on school grounds or private property is also a violation.
A person could be fined or arrested.
Curfew
Any person under the age of 18 years
old, who is loitering in a public place between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and
5:00 a.m. without adult supervision will be in violation of the curfew laws
and would receive a summons and have to appear in court.
Park Rules
Any person found in the city parks
between dusk and dawn will be in violation of a city ordinance and would receive
a summons to appear in court.
The Hartford Police
Department will enforce any disorderly conduct
or behavior and motor vehicle violations that impact
the quality of life in the City of Hartford.
